The President, Gopal Shanker, has a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.B.A. in General Business, both from Iowa State University. Prior to founding WBS, he worked for six years at Thomas G. Eddy & Associates (TGEA), a Napa Valley based wine industry consulting firm. As the financial and administrative officer at TGEA, he helped run TGEA and its affiliated business, Tom Eddy Wines. He managed all accounting, finance, and computer-related functions, and planned and implemented various production, marketing, distribution, financial, accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory strategies. Gopal is always seeking to expand his total knowledge and understanding to better serve his clients and society. Recognizing that the global need to shift to renewable energies is urgent, and that the wine industry is well-suited for renewable energy technologies, Gopal has formed strategic alliances with experts in the renewable energy field. With them, and through his affiliated company, Récolte Energy, he is enabling wineries to become more economically and ecologically sustainable from an energy standpoint. |
